Rogeli Huguet Tagell
(Barcelona, 1882 - Sartrouville, 1956)

He trained at the Escola Municipal de Música with Josep Soler i Ventura. In 1904 he received the School's cello award. He toured concerts abroad and was a member and soloist of the Societat Filharmònica de Barcelona orchestra, created by Mathieu Crickboom in 1897. He also played with the Quartet Barcelona. Later he went to live in Paris and after years he worked at “Salabert Éditions”. In 1931 he was appointed Knight of the French Legion of Honor, the country where he lived the rest of his life.

As a composer, he wrote numerous works dedicated to the cello inspired by Spanish folklore, following the aesthetic line of composers such as Gaspar Cassadó and Joaquin Nin Castellanos. In his catalog we also find works for piano, songs, piano trio works, symphonic music, light music and operettas such as "Le modèle Jaloux", "La reine de Montmatre" or "Le Fétiche".
